Become an IoT Autoclave Partner
This page is for companies that already sell or service Class B sterilizers and want to add connected cycle monitoring to what they offer. It describes what a partnership actually involves — including the parts that are decided in conversation rather than announced on a website.
Who this is for
- Autoclave manufacturers who want a connected offer without redesigning their machines — see connected monitoring for manufacturers.
- Equipment distributors and dental dealers who sell sterilizers and want a recurring line alongside them.
- Biomedical service organisations whose technicians already stand in front of these machines several times a year.
- Groups and chains that operate their own fleet and want records across sites.
The common denominator is not size. It is access to machines: a company with technicians who visit sterilization rooms is in a far stronger position than one with a catalogue and no field presence.
What you bring
- Your market. You know the customers, the language, the buying habits and the competition. We do not, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
- Your technicians. Fitting the chain is within reach of anyone who services sterilizers: a thermowell and probe clamped to the drain line with thermal paste, an RS-485 converter, a gateway, two power supplies.
- The customer relationship. They sign with you, they call you, they pay you.
- Your prices. You set them. We do not set, suggest or control what you charge.
What we bring
- The platform — cycle storage, charts, alerts, reports, audit trail.
- Hosting and updates, so you never become a software company.
- The measurement chain and its engineering.
- Technical backup for your team when an installation gets unusual.
- Your brand instead of ours, if you want it — see white-label connected monitoring.
The hardware question, answered plainly
The kit is defined by a chain, not by a brand: PT100 probe (class AA, 4-wire, IEC 60751) → stainless 316L thermowell clamped externally on the drain line → RS-485 Modbus RTU converter → gateway → platform.
Only the gateway emits radio. The probe, the thermowell and the converter emit nothing. That has a practical consequence for your market: an Ethernet installation raises no radio type-approval question at all, while WiFi and cellular gateways must be approved in the country where they operate.
Our position on this is deliberate and worth stating: we would rather you source a gateway that is already approved and available in your market than import a model that is not. Approval regimes differ from one country to the next, they change, and a certificate that has lapsed is worse than no certificate at all. The chain is what matters; the badge on the gateway is yours to choose.
Where a cellular gateway is used, the SIM card is supplied and paid for by the end customer.
What the first months look like
- A conversation about your market, your customers, and how many machines your technicians already touch in a year.
- A pilot on a handful of installations, with customers who already trust you. This is where you find out what your local objections actually are — they are never quite what anyone predicted.
- Training: your technicians on the chain, your sales team on what may and may not be claimed.
- Rollout, attached to the service visits you already make rather than as a separate campaign — see turning the installed base into revenue.
- Review, with your own numbers, before deciding how far to go.
What gets settled in the agreement, not on this page
Some things depend entirely on your market and your company, and any supplier who publishes fixed answers to them has not thought about it seriously. Bring these to the first conversation:
- Commercial terms and volumes.
- The branding scope, if you want white-label.
- Where your first-line support ends and our technical backup begins.
- Which documents you hand to the end customer, and in which language.
We would rather discuss these with you than publish figures that would be wrong for half the companies reading this page.
What we will never ask you to say
This matters as much as the commercial terms, because it is what keeps your name safe:
- The PT100 probe measures temperature. Pressure appears only where the autoclave itself publishes it on a digital output the gateway can read.
- The platform records and documents. It does not determine the conformity of a cycle.
- It does not authorise the release of a sterilized load. That decision belongs to the qualified person responsible for it.
- No claim of registration or approval by any health authority, in any market.
A salesperson who oversteps these four lines creates a problem that lands on your service department and your reputation, not ours. We train against it, and we would rather lose a sale than win one on a claim that will not hold.
The question that opens most conversations
Ask it to three of your own accounts this week. The answers will tell you more about the size of this opportunity in your market than anything we could write here.
Frequently asked questions
Who can become a partner?
Manufacturers, distributors, dental dealers and biomedical service organisations — any company that sells or services Class B sterilizers and has technicians visiting sites.
Do we need IoT expertise?
No. If your technicians can fit a clamp and a converter and connect a cable, they can install the chain.
Who sets the end-customer price?
You do, in your own market.
What about the gateway in our country?
Only the gateway emits radio and must be approved locally. We prefer a gateway already approved in your market over an import.
Can we start small?
Yes — a pilot on a handful of installations is how every partnership should begin.
IOT.AUTOCLAVEXPRESS.COM is a division of SCMDSD LLC (USA). We do not manufacture or sell autoclaves; we work with the manufacturers and distributors who do. The platform records and documents sterilization cycles. It does not determine the conformity of a cycle and does not authorise the release of a sterilized load; that decision remains with the qualified personnel responsible for it. All technical resources
